General Conditions

The Fondation des États-Unis offers housing to American and international students for the academic year (September or October 1st to June 28th) and for the summer session (July-August).

Academic Year Admissions

For academic year admissions, the Fondation accepts first-time applications from American full-time students, readmission requests from current residents, and a select number of international students “on exchange” from their house of nationality at the CiuP.

 

First-time candidates must:

  • have completed at least an undergraduate degree at a recognized college or university
  • show proof of full-time studies for the upcoming academic year
  • be under 29 years of age
  • possess American nationality

Readmission candidates must:

  • be in good terms with the administration of the Fondation des États-Unis
  • explain in detail their project for full-time studies for the following academic year
  • possess American nationality
  • a maximum of two renewals can be approved (i.e. a 3-year stay)

Summer Short-term Bookings

For short-term summer bookings, the Fondation accepts individuals of all nationalities.

All applicants must:

  • be over 18 years of age
  • reserve a minimum of 5 nights

How to Apply

  • First-time candidates: April – September
    (or until the house reaches maximum occupancy).
  • ReadmissionsFebruary
  • Summer short-term stays: March – August
    (or until the house is fully booked).

 

Timely and complete applications are encouraged.

For first-time candidates:

  1. Check the eligibility criteria to see if you qualify.
  2. Complete the workflow form on the CiuP website.
  3. Send a copy of your completed form to the Fondation des États-Unis: reception@feusa.org 
  4. The Fondation will reply to all requests. Please wait to receive a response.

 

For readmission requests:

  1. Check the eligibility criteria to see if you qualify.
  2. Complete the form available at the Reception in March or email reception@feusa.org
  3. Please note that a readmission is not a right. The Directors will consider your request based on your studies and good conduct at the Fondation. Please wait for a reply.  

 

For summer reservations:

  1. Check the eligibility criteria to see if you qualify.
  2. Complete the workflow form on the CiuP website.
  3. Send a copy of your completed form to the Fondation des États-Unis: reception@feusa.org 
  4. The Fondation will reply to all requests. Please wait to receive a response.

Groups

FEU home

The Fondation des États-Unis welcomes groups from American universities for both the academic year (one or two semesters) and for summer study abroad programs. During the summer, groups from other nationalities may also apply.

 

Please email residence@feusa.org for further information, making sure to include the following information:

  • The approximate dates of your group’s stay
  • The number of rooms you require
  • If you would like to rent a classroom/screening space (subject to availability)

Please note that students must be over 18 years of age. For summer reservations, you must reserve a minimum of 5 nights and at least one faculty member must also stay at the Fondation.

House Rules

All residents of the Fondation des États-Unis are expected to act responsibly, to respect others, and to abide by these House Rules during their stay. Residents will be asked to sign a copy of the house rules.

Internet Policy

Internet access is monitored by the Cité international universitaire de Paris’ IT team and any illegal activity will be detected. Each resident is required to sign this User Policy (PDF) upon their arrival.
