Saturday, May 26 @6pm-10pm Krumpfest 2K18 | Fête de la Cité
Krump will be back at the FEU in partnership with the Krumpfest Association as part of Fête de la Cité.
A 100% Krump battle with a wealth of thrills and sensations!
Strap yourself in and discover new judges and guest dancers, who will give outstanding performances! Created in California in the mid-1990s, Krump is an energetic dance with influences of hip-hop, mime and African dances. Very expressive through the movements of the body as of the face, Krump tells in a sublimated way the story of a fight between the dancer and his adversary. In 2005, director David LaChapelle captured the evolution of this dance in the documentary film RIZE. Characters such as Tight Eyez, Big Mijo or Miss Prissy left a strong impression and America began to krump. Madonna, among others, fell in love with this dance and integrated it into her shows. Krump then crossed the Atlantic all the way to France. More open than the American districts and values close to HipHop, including respect and surpassing oneself, offer to this dance new ways of artistic development.
