Tuesday, April 10 @7:30pm : Conference « Medical Cultures » – Ties between between Art and illness | CANCELED

Framed in our cycle « Medical Cultures », the Fondation des Etats-Unis has the pleasure of presenting the conference by Doctor Anne-Marie Dubois, entitled « Ties between Art and illness through the artworks of the Sainte-Anne Hospital Museum’s Collection ».

Beyond its ancient and singular History (more than 150 years), the Sainte-Anne’s Collection and its Museum, the Musée d’Art et d’Histoire de l’Hôpital Sainte-Anne (MAHHSA) invite us to reflect about the question of Illness, its representations and the creation process.

This reflection also boards onto the notions of « category » and « classification », applied to the people, the ill and sick, but also to the artistic styles.

Biography

Doctor Anne-Marie Dubois is a medical psychiatrist, responsible of the Art Therapy Unit at the Clinique des maladies mentales de l’encéphale (CMME) based at the Sainte-Anne Hospital Center. The cycle « Medical Cultures » is organized in collaboration with the Harriet Hale Woolley awarded Scholar, Vincent Trebossen.
