Thursday February the 21th @ 7:30 : – « The Mountaintop » by Katori Hall | Black History Month
This Black History Month, the Fondation des Etats-Unis will host a performance of The Mountaintop by Katori Hall, directed by Fatima Cadet-Diaby of Loline Stage & Film, currently in residence at FEU. The French subtitles for the performance are being created by the students of the MA in Audiovisual Translation at Paris Nanterre University, under the supervision of Suzanne Dignan, Associate Professor in English linguistics.
A second performance will take place at the Fondation Lucien Paye, further information to come.

About the play:
After having delivered a riveting speech on April 3rd, 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee in support of sanitation workers rights, Civil Rights activist Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. returns to the now infamous room 306 in the Lorraine Motel. His final hours are spent in an unprecedented fashion when he engages in a prophetic conversation with one of the hotel’s room service employees.
In honor of American Black History month sponsored by the Fondation des Etats-Unis, director/producer, Fatima Cadet-Diaby directs this Olivier winning play by Katori Hall. The play stars Achille Tenkiang as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Sabrina Robleh as Camae.

Fatima Cadet-Diaby is a playwright, director and producer from New-York who recently graduated from Mount Holyoke College, where she studied theatre and specialized in musical theater. During the summer, she worked as an intern at the Manhattan Theatre Club, Ars Nova Entertainment, The Musical Theatre Factory, Repertorio Español, and the New York Musical Theatre Festival. During her stay at the Fondation des Etats-Unis, she created The Lemonade Short Play Festival (the 10 Minute Play Festival in 2017) to showcase young talents in residence at the Cité internationale or living in Paris.
