Wednesday 22 March at 5:30 pm: Conference « Outlawing the law to go beyond the law: innovation and sustainable housing » -Université de la Paix
Within the framework of its vocation in the service of peace and rapprochement between peoples, the Cité internationale universitaire de Paris is organizing, with many houses of the Cité, from Tuesday 21 to Saturday 25 March 2017, the third Université de la Paix de la Cité. This year’s theme is « Innovations and Peace ». It is an opportunity for all the actors of the City, and in particular its residents, to debate a theme for reflection within the framework of conferences and workshops, and to compare their points of view with the help of researchers and personalities involved in the action.
The Fondation des Etats-Unis is pleased to participate in the 2017 edition of the Université de la Paix de la Cité with the conference « Outlaws to go beyond the law: innovation and sustainable housing » given by Christine Lecerf (AILTER) and Emmanuelle Patte (Méandre etc.), on Wednesday, March 22 at 5:30 pm.
Innovating to invent new places that allow people to live together while minimizing their impact on the environment is one of the challenges that Christine Lecerf, President of the Institute for Ecoresponsible Building Design, invites us to reflect on in the company of architect Emmanuelle Patte from the Méandre etc. Agency. These issues are at the heart of CiuP, a fast-growing architectural park, and the Fondation des Etats-Unis, which is working on renovation projects, wishes to participate in this year’s Peace and Innovation University by asking political, ethical and philosophical questions at the heart of our practical choices and by showing architectural solutions and ways of answering these questions.
Biographies of the speakers
Christine Lecerf is an engineer (Supélec) and designer (Université de Technologie de Compiègne then Université de Montréal). From 1987 to 1996, she worked as a designer and then as a pilot for space planning, signage and industrial design projects within the design agencies IG DESIGN, ADSA and EURO RSCG DESIGN: programming and drawing up design specifications, drawing up charters to ensure the consistency of equipment over time and on several sites, managing and assessing the designers’ projects, organising the manufacturers’ consultation, and monitoring implementation.
In 1997, she created the company ailter : designing eco-responsible collective intelligence. Initially, AILTER carried out project management assistance missions for architectural programming, user consultation, programming and signage development, and sales space development strategy. In a second phase, starting in 2002, after initial training in the HQE® approach, AILTER’s missions gradually shifted towards sustainable development consulting and engineering for buildings and development. Since 2013, she has also been president of ICEB, Institut pour la Conception Écoresponsable du Bâti, an association of professionals that implements sustainable construction, develops innovation, leads the debate and disseminates its know-how.
Hired as Vice President of the ICEB for the design of sustainable housing, the architect Emmanuelle Patte has designed and carried out numerous projects within the framework of the agency MEANDRE ETC. Participatory housing, passive school groups or homes, all its projects are innovative in energy solutions and ecological redevelopment. Its pioneering experience in the field of architecture and the environment is based on numerous training courses and publications that help disseminate eco-responsible architectural ideas and practices.
